So have you picked up the new single by MJ Hibbett & The Validators? It’s the very marvellous ‘My Boss Was In An Indie Band Once’, inspired, so the story goes, by a certain Phil Wilson of the legendary June Brides. It comes in a couple of flavours to suit your palette, including a limited edition CD (200 copies, so snap one up quick to avoid disappointment) which hosts a cover of Madness’ ‘House Of Fun’ (which I have to say, whilst being quite charmingly boisterous, isn’t a patch on the original. This little badge came in the mail this week, accompanying the new issue of Amy’s ‘Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams’ fanzine. The ‘zine has a hefty bunch of interviews with the likes of Duglas Bandit, Pam Berry and Bobby Wratten, plus a compilation CD with a lot of indiepop tunes. Have to admit I have not yet listened to the CD, probably because I’m not in a hugely Indiepop frame of mind these days. Having said that, there are some great groups on there: Still Corners, Dreamers, BMX Bandits, northern_electrix…

Medium Cool
