Sixteen years ago I sat in what was then the school meetings room as a newly qualified teacher wondering what the heck all these funny acronyms meant and wondering what the hell I was doing thinking I could be a teacher. Now that room is the Head’s office, and I’ve been sitting as part of the school leadership team talking about CVA’s, AXS, APS and a million other things and reflecting on a job well done.
I watched Bradley Wiggins on the telly last night as he rode to victory in the individual pursuit at the World Championships in Manchester. The pundits afterwards were reflecting about whether he would be celebrating the victory or if it would be more a sense of relief. Now I can’t ride a fraction as fast as Bradley, but I feel the same sense of relief over celebration. We did the job we had to do and got the result we felt we deserved. And it does feel like a relief.
And as Laugh sang, it does indeed feel good to feel good.
I'm glad it went well - and I hope you'll enjoy your belated Easter holidays.
Wiggins beat a compatriot of mine, didn't he? One whom I had never heard of before...

Good Morning Starshine, from Hair. It's about drugs. I think. And Good Lovin' by the Rascals, of course.
