I've got to admit 'Father's Day' didn't effect me as much as some of the other episodes* but I know lots of others have been crying over it. RTD etc have really worked to create a modern version with emotional content actually built in (instead of read into by fans).

*a combination of factors really:
- I dislike the musical cues and obvious manipulation (ironic, given the previous episode was about media manipulation)
- I've just spent two years working with paradoxes, having my own "when does a man die and how does that change things" plot worked over, and the paradox logic *within the episode* didn't work. Grr.

Surely not as moving when Buffy's mum dies, Duke?
