First there’s the Neistat Brothers and their fine short films. I think the goldfish film is one of those that’s done the rounds a bit, and I have a vague memory of having seen it before. Also the ‘ipod dirty secret’ one I’m sure has had much attention lavished on it. My fave is the Holland Tunnel bicycle dash…
Then there’s this on the Guardian site, about Flickr and folksonomies. Interesting stuff. I actually thought that Flickr probably had more users than it does, and thought that even though it’s in Beta, it had been around a lot longer than it obviously has. I feel quite excited that we have been using it as a teaching and learning tool at such an early stage in its development. Maybe we really are cutting edge at THS. Ha ha.
And what about Chickfactor? Well, a new issue is online as of today. Lots of great stuff on there, not least of which is the hugely entertaining Jukebox Jury featuring the finer than fine trio of Alasdair Clientele, Lupe Pipas and Tim From Sidmouth on the panel. Also some great Dreams and Drugs polls answered by a vast array of indiepop (and other) personalities. Oh, and me. But my answers suck. Except maybe the one about the meaning of Death Cab For Cutie…
Finally for now, a new issue of Plan B is out! Yay! A box of copies was sitting on the stairs when I stumbled in from school. It looks ACE (of course) and I have heaved a huge sigh of relief that my first proper editing job was not an unmitigated disaster… yes, the comics page looks grand. Phew. Thanks to my lovely contributors. Oh, oh, oh, and my first published photograph! Can I call myself a Photographer now? I think it looks nice, and I am dead proud, even if there is a typo on my name and the edited version of the TVPs Chickfactor show text that accompanies it isn’t a patch on the blog version.
