So I had this corny idea that I’d give all the kids in my tutor group something when they left. I’d had these thoughts going through my head for a while, things I wanted to say but never had the situation to do so… So I figured I’d do a little booklet thing, and stick it in a bag with a bunch of sweets and it would be like this little goodbye artefact. And I sat up for ages last Thursday night printing them off, slicing paper with my scalpel, collating and folding and stapling and stamping the covers; sticking them in some of my 7” sealable plastic bags, divvying up the sweets… It was kind of fun. And then Friday came and everything conspired against me giving them out because I forgot there really never is the time to get the kids all together in one place, and… and… well, maybe it was just a corny idea and it was as well it all fell through. I figured anyway I would post the text here. I dunno why. Maybe just in case I lose it, it’ll be archived here. And maybe in ten years time one of them will find it and it will raise a smile or a groan. Whatever. Oh. And you know the title is from that Millennium / Sandy Salisbury song, don’t you? Of course you do.
