    Flowers

Life1005md_2 Speaking of Paris Angels and those early ‘90s Mancunian sounds, I’ve been spinning ‘Flowers’ by The Ruling Class a lot this weekend. I know nothing of the group apart from the fact that they have one of those delicious looking CD and 7” artefacts on Shelflife. I put my order in yesterday, and in the process finally picked up the Days set that I’ve been meaning to do for simply ages. Shame on me for taking so long, I know, but there you are.

I am really excited about hearing the full Ruling Class collection, for ‘Flowers’ really is a peach of a track; full of that kind of wildly oscillating psychedelic Pop confection that Paris Angels served up so deliciously on ‘Perfume’. Indeed, it’s driven me to look out for the Paris Angels on reissue action, but there is apparently none to be found either on CD or (legal) download. This is tragic, so let me take this opportunity to stick an MP3 of ‘Perfume’ here for your pleasure. It’s ripped from the 12” vinyl, so apologies if it’s a bit crackly.

As for The Ruling Class, you can download their ‘Flowers’ from the Shelflife page. I suggest you do so now.
